I was working out the dents in the bottom bow of a Conn 3J CC (Doesn't anyone put bow guards on tubas anymore?). I noticed that the small end of the bow is very close in size to that of a York "Monster" Eb. Before I build a mongrel to satisfy my curiosity, has anyone of the hacksaw crowd every tried putting a York Eb bottom bow and bell on a 3J? It looks like it ought to work, but maybe I'm being overly optimistic.
Thoughts, anyone?
