Adam, I don't know what kind of horn you are going to play with the new mouthpiece and that seems to make a difference. But the deepest mouthpiece I have is a Dillon Chief 3.
This is modeled after the Mouthpiece that John Kuhn played but is somewhat deeper. I use it on a Willson EEb and it really plays the low fundamentals of that horn very well and has a very comfortable rim. But if you want to experiment, find an old Conn 2 some place and play with that for a while (a couple of weeks). They are fairly deep and have a pretty good rim; quite comfortable. This will give you an idea without a lot of expense.
If you are near Atlanta, contact me and we can have a try session for you. Btw, Chuck Jackson, a frequent poster here, plays a 24AW to the exclusion of anything else and really likes it.
