I guess it is possible, but why do that to yourself? I know of several pros who only play CC tuba (Not orchestral though). If you must use only one, a 4/4 CC is the safest route. If you live in the UK Eb is ok too. (Unfortunatly in the US they would just look at you funny) Good luck.
