I have an older HB I am rebuilding for a customer that the pipe has rotted out. The owner did not take as good of care of the horn as he should and he is having a rather heafty repair bill to swallow. You will most probably have to order a pipe from HB and if you do not have a local Brass Tech who is up to the job, you will have to ship your instrument to one if you want the work to be performed corectly. It will require plating the new pipe after it is formed and polished. After it is installed the solder areas will need to be copper struck and then spot plated in silver. If the Technician is well skilled, the job will not even be invisable. For the present, you should play the the horn and enjoy it but do start mking plans if you wish to keep your tuba in good order. Just an opinion from experience.
