What kind of horn to get is really going to depend on what you are majoring in college. A BBb tuba for all around playing would be nice but if you plan to major in music performance you are going to have to get a CC horn. That's for 99% of the colleges. And sadly they do run a bit more than a BBb horn. Check under shops for Dave Fedderly's Baltimore Brass, or Dillon Music. Both have great deals on used horns and new ones as well.
