Hey. I'm a high school senior and I need help selecting the right tuba for me. I will be using the tuba for the rest of High School (only 1 year and we play college level music), for college band and/or orchestra, and professional orchestra afterwards. I want a CC 4 piston + 1 rotary that has a large sound and can be used for medium to large ensembles. I don't want a tuba that will easily overly dominate the ensemble, especially for band (b/c of having more than 1 tuba player). I guess a 4/4 or 5/4 size tuba would be suitable. I've been checking out some tubas and saw many I would consider. I don't want to spend more than $6500. Any suggestions? Thanx.
