yes, the sound is important, and i didn't mean to imply that this isn't important. what i meant to say, was that with work, anything can be conquered technically on either horn. as someone mentioned earlier, certain e-flats, of course, have different sounds. i would guess that for blending purposes, a more versatile, (or even an "f-ish sounding") e-flat would lend itself more readily to performing Berlioz.
that was just my example, pick whatever excerpt / solo you'd like in its place... there are always better horns in anyone's opinion for differing situations, i just was trying to say that either horn will (although one more "conveniently" than the other) work finger-wise... sometimes i don't articulate my thoughts well. .. (:
