Regardless of the key of your tuba, your goal is (of course) to play it in tune. If your CC is a better quality horn (this I don't know) than your school horns, then we'll hope it tends to play in tune more easily than the school horns do. This, then, should be a benefit, and not a hindrance, to good musicianship.

However, you should also consider the advice Lee Stofer posted above. If your school horns are decent quality, you could keep the CC at home, and spare it from the occasional band-room dents. Yet this comes at the expense of less time with the CC fingerings.

As with much of life, there are compromises to be made. Read the comments in this thread, and flip a coin . . . .
