I'm not exactly answering your specific question to your needs as a student, but to those who make money playing, I just signed up with Music Pro and with all my instruments I take out of the house for music jobs their yearly rate is $187 for me, with a $100 deductible. Compared to Clarion, who quoted me $500 for the same coverage, I couldn't pass up such a deal. Maybe Clarion has had more experience with covering damages, etc., but for now, I will go with lesser of the two premiums. I remember the lady with Clarion saying that my upright basses are what bring the risk(and therefore the rate) higher.
