I read somewhere (trombone usenet newsgroup, IIRC) of someone who'd bought one of these Indian euphoniums and it didn't even play at concert pitch, somewhere "in the cracks" it was.

To protect resale value, it's best to stick to the (many) reputable brands (even though that will mean a little more $$ outlayed at first). Any "rung" of the ladder, (student up to pro, small bore, large, 3 valve, 4) if it's reputable, and in good condition, you'll always find a market...

*Also*, I have always thought it was just a bit dodgy on ye olde eßay to see so many (a veritable mega-glut) of instruments all listed for sale with the SAME PHOTO... I'm afraid that I'd prefer to think that I was looking at actual photos of the instrument I was considering bidding on, gosh, am I naïve? There should be a law against it!
