First, if you are happy with yours why ask the question? But, since you did, here you go. I will elaborate on some of the reasons mentioned by another poster.

1. Thin, poor quality metal dents easily.
2. Poor workmanship, solder joints have been known to come loose, or not have been done completely. The valve linkage that Vince has put on these tends to breakdown quickly. I have seen one just fall apart while someone was playing, not a pretty sight. The valves are poorly fit and rough.
3. Very inconsistent from one to the next.

The bottom line is that today there are many other tubas in the same price range that are much better made.
