I suspect there are lots of things you can do that I can't. But that aside, I wasn't talking about *that* low F. The F in Ken's chart is the one at the bottom of the staff.

As it turns out, my guesses were all wrong. I might as well say it before Ken reads the thread tonight and laughs at me out loud. He had sent me an email, that had I read I would have been able to appear remarkably smart. Sneaky, too. But I missed the opportunity.

Turns out, the microphone Ken used is the same brand but not the same model as my AT-822. His is a standard, decent road vocal mike, and it may be a bit overwhelmed by a tuba. But, as he says, it does the stuff we are talking about as long as you stay within its parameters.

The instrument is... well, not everyone has had a chance to guess.
