marching euphoniums

i'm going to be in the southern methodist marching band this fall as a freshman. since forever i've played on a school horn, a regular upright besson, the entire time. is there any difference in the way i should play the marching horn? they also sometimes use the bellfront euphoniums. is that played any differently?
