You need to play on as many horns as you can. Realize that the only way you'll succeed on F tuba is 1) by practicing a lot on any horn. and 2) by having some kind of sound in your head. If you haven't heard Michael Lind play, go buy a Michael Lind CD TODAY! He plays on an Alex F and for me, that's the sound of an F tuba. For me, I don't want to sound like a CC, the F is a solo/utility horn in America so that's what I want. Both of the MW horns you listed would be perfect for that as Mienl's are known for a rich tone. I don't know anything about Cervenys or Miraphone, so I can't comment. F tuba is not an easy road to follow. If you get a Yamaha, it will be easier to play but IN MY OPINION you lose that beautiful german F tuba sound.
