Hey Danny,

Before I got my Cerveny CC tuba (remember that one?) I started learning the "new" fingerings for all of the major scales. I used to practice the fingerings (like air guitar) when I was on the bus from Usdan to my house. I found that it helped me out a LOT. What was difficult at first was getting used to the change in open fundamental. After a short while it won't be a problem. I started learning fingerings for CC tuba before I ever touched one. Ha....that reminds me of the show "Friends" when Feebie taught Joey how to play guitar. "You must learn it HERE...before you can learn it THERE." HA! (Did anyone else see that episode??)

I have a question for you. Have you played treble clef Euphonium or trumpet?? I know you are primarily a euph player....or maybe that has changed. The fingerings you use when reading treble clef euph or trumpet are the same as CC tuba. So Bb is 1st valve, A is 12, etc.

I hope this helps.

HEY...which CC tuba are you looking to buy??

Todd
