You make good points, but I have to disagree. At the school I am at now, I used an EEb tuba for everything the first 2/3 of the school year before I got my CC tuba. Even though it is a large EEb tuba, it still is a bass tuba like the F tuba and has a bass tuba sound. When I got my CC tuba, several trombone and horn players noticed the difference in the depth of tone. They all like the CC tuba better. I use it in Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and I use my EEb for lighter stuff like Low brass choir, brass ensemble and quintet. You need the contrabass depth for the heavy orchestral pieces. Many CC tubas have the clarity like the F tuba, but with added weight and depth.
