I went to San Jose State University, enrolled and was accepted
as a Classified Bachelor of Music Performance candidate,
after two semesters the school cut the ADJUNCT (read per diem)
tuba professor due to "insufficient enrollment" !!!
A few weeks later, when the director of bands picked a fight with my section
(and later told me "you could have been a good tuba player")
I dropped every class in that music department, changed my major,
and haven't looked back. I guess since my playing lacks
clarity and polish and has little "round sound"
that that makes me "old school" also!
