For the last 20 years or so, I have primarily used either a Conn Helleburg or a Conn 2. I find the Conn 2 to be a "tad" more comfortable for longer gigs, but the accuracy seems to be a little better with the Helleburg. Other than the obvious difference in the rim size, I find them to be very similar otherwise. I've "messed around" with a Schilke Helleburg, but I don't seem to like it as well as the Conns. Don't take that as a "knock" on Schilke because I use their 51D exclusively for euphonium. I guess that a mouthpiece is such an "individual feel" situation (not unlike comfortable shoes) that you just kind of know when you've got the right one. For me, the MOST comfortable is an old Conn 2 that I sent to Anderson's in Indiana to have gold plated. That wider rim and the gold rather than silver is about the most comfortable mouthpiece in the world to me.
