You seem to have trouble with the shift key used for capital letters, and the space bar used to separate words. I've noticed that when I oil my valves, and make sure all of the linkage screws are tight that my St Pete performs better too. I don't know what you're talking about when you say the St Pete's don't have a "receiver just a hole at the end of the leadpipe", or what you're doing to the spring, but it doesn't sound to me like you know very much about your tuba. BTW, I can hit 4th space G just fine unless I've taken time off from playing/practicing. Then the high notes are a bit less than they should be, but it ain't the axe that's dull.
