I've tried several St. Pete's, and despite their reputation, I thought they were decent horns. They were not without problems. I noticed on each that the valves felt rough, as if they needed to be polished. The high range required a very accurate, solid buzz, and pitches could easily be bent. I thought they made good, dark sounds. I was very impressed with how clear, easy, and free-blowing the low range was on each. Overall, I think the horns (valves especially) were just not finished to tight tolerances. The job needs to be completed. BTW, I was told by That Infamous Importer that a CC was in the works. What problems will it have?
