I agree, to an extent. To use the computer analogy-
I have an old Packard Bell with a 33mHz 486 processor and 4 MB of RAM. It's got a 246 MB hard drive. I can change software all day but It will NEVER come close to my Athlon XP 1900+ with 120 GB Had drive and 256 MB RAM.
Going from a "POS" tuba to, for example, my Getzen, is a hardware change that will improve playing, simply because it will make improved playing possible.
And at this point, I realize that the whole gripe was on doing something like adding a "fix-all" onto the Getzen, not the "POS".
Oh well, such is the mind at 1 AM
