You might try a cheaper remedy. Most pharmacies carry foam rubber ear plugs. The one's I like are called "EAR" (blue and white box). They're fairly cheap and reusable. You twist each one between your finger and thumb until they are small in size and then insert them into each ear. In a few seconds they expand and in the ear closing off most of the sound. You can still hear the notes and even cary on a conversation. We used these same EAR's when going into engine generator rooms which are really noisy (120 db appox).

I still use them when I go to the movies. Ever notice how loud the trailers are!? When the movie starts I remove them. Hope this helps.
