Hi Ola!!!

the fact that this works downwards - not just "as well", but actually much more reliably - is frequently used in organ-playing. Whenever there´s not enough room available to add a real 64ft register set of pipes (veryveryveryveryvery low sound and veryveryvery long pipes!) just because these bummers are too darn long, to the organ, they usually add two more sets of 32ft ones tunes in perfect (very important that they´re well in tune) fifths, thus generating a sort of artificial 64ft register. That´s based on the same overtone-series-stuff that we´re constantly dealing with. Have 2 people play 2nd and 3rd natural well in tune, the1st will appear in the air, and if you then play it, too, nobody will actually notice you actually playing in the first place!

cheers, oli
