Volker, can you describe the differences between the rims? This is interesting; the usual for horn players is to have one screw-on rim and a couple of cups. I do this....one rim, a cup for my high F descant and another cup for my double. I've never heard of a rim making any difference in how the instrument responds....just the player's lips. Do tell more!
