Actually, that isnīt totally correct. I agree that Custom Music charges way too $$ for everything they sell but there are major differences between the VMI 5198 and the B&S PT-7P. Most of the inner branches are different and some of the outer bows as well. So most of the body is a different tuba. Yes, you do have pay more for a B&S, but there are craftsman issues as well. There are some good 5198 out there but they are not near as consistent as the B&S tubas. I recently was at the VMI factory and investigated this because I too thought they were the same tuba with different engraving and a different price tag. Confusing.......?
