Hmmmmm, I was wondering a bit about that, but the more I think about it, the more I like the 1/4 tone with a lot of room to extend to almost a half plus the first slide being easily adjustable. Probably a flat 1/4.

Tell ya what Sam, chuck some of your old bits and pieces in a box, send em out and I'll play around with them and try a few thiings and keep you posted on the results. I have an old Martin 4V Eb which has a very shot valve set which could be used as a trial horse.

Then of course there is the old King 4RV BBb which needs total rebuilding and could be used for some experimentation while that is being done. The wrap on it would make it easy to work with. There just aren't old axes to chop up out here to get parts to play with. Let me know if you might like to do something along these lines. Not expecting freebies, but not overly cashed up either!!
