Is it practical to get on a big c.d. site and search for a recording of the Barnes to purchase?

Here is James Barnes contact information, from the University of Kansas website. If you get in touch with him asking for advice, please say "Hello" for me.

The others are probably available (at least orchestral performances, which might be the best to try and emulate anyway) at a good lending library.

I encourage you to use instruments for each excerpt that are the most comfortable for you.

Tounguing low pitches quickly is one of the most difficult things that we are asked to do. I encourage you to use this challenge as a good time to increase your effective single-tounguing speed, as double-tounging in the low register is quite often self-evident.
