I had a custom case built for a horn inside a gig bag. It allows for plane travel and use of the gig bag upon arrival. Problem is the thing is so big that it is a real hassle to use. It is virtually of no use except major traveling, and even then it is a few inches and pounds over sized, and costs extra with each flight. A better solution would have been to get a good hard case and deal with it when traveling. No easy solution here, but the extra travel costs for the big case alone would have paid for a nice Walt Johnson case (hindsight).
