Lee, while I cannot disagree with your post, I do want to point out that almost all tape adhesives can be removed with naptha, i.e. lighter fluid. Even old, hardened duct tape adhesive residue can be removed with lighter fluid, though you will have to soak it a bit. AFAIK, lighter fluid will not damage a lacquered tuba's finish.
