Making the decision to say it's ok for two fine organizations I'm a fan of to stay all-male because of tradition and then say that the VPO cannot uphold it's own traditions in a very similar light is just "speaking outta both sides of the mouth".

I can't, in my mind, allow for such bias for one and not for the other. And like I said, the VPO has allowed for change by hiring Mr. Sugiyama as the tubist and the lady that was hired as second harpist a few years ago. These drum corps (whose history is much smaller) have not changed their requirements for entrance into their organizations and as far as it matters to me, they can keep that tradition.

And just like there are hundreds of other orchestras out there, there are plenty of other drum corps out there I could choose to listen to, or even join if it becomes my incentive.

FWIW
