Call Clarion on the phone and ask them about the insurance. You may be right, but also you may be surprised. Most insurance companies will put on you a verbal binder from the moment you say you are sending the money, and as long as you sent the money when you said you did, they are obligated to provide coverage. All reports of this company suggest they are understanding and helpful.

On the other hand, my homeowner's insurance carrier would not initiate coverage of the instruments without a written appraisal in their hands. Clarion may also require an appraisal, but a price list from a Meinl-Weston dealer is probably all you need for your 182. My old tubas are a different matter.
