Which model do you have? I had a 982 type Boosey with the smaller lead pipe (the marching model) and had it changed to a 981 lead pipe and it plays great. Huge difference. It just lets me get more air in and that make a big difference.
It also helped the upper register response and intonation oddly enough. I do not need to use alternate fingerings above the staff anymore.
