As Christian says, it seems to be a convention in Germany to refer to piston "tenor tubas" as euphoniums, British-style, and rotary tenor tubas as barytons, German-style.

But they can play well. The lead euphoniumist of the TubaMeisters during my day played a Miraphone rotary baryton, and it worked beautifully. The tone was distinct from the other euphoniumist who had a tradition British-style compensator, but it still blended with our VERY heterogeneous collection of instruments.

The Alexander 151 is a famous kaiser-sized baryton, and is what most ochestra tuba players picture in their minds when they hear the term "tenor tuba."
