But more importantly..........A while back, the Windsor Symphony (Windsor, Ontario, is across the Detroit river from Detroit) had an "American" purge from their ranks with the help of the Canadian union. If you weren't Canadian, out you went. I don't know if this is still the case, but I had a colleague (trumpet) who's girlfriend also played in Windsor (horn, but she was Canadian) and she told us that the group was the worse for it. The supposed reason was an attempt for greater government funding from Ottawa.
