Hello. I just managed to borrow a tuba to help me get back into playing, 1928 York BBb. It came with a HN White 26 mouthpiece.

Can anyone suggest whether this mouthpiece is OK for re-learning how to play? I will say that in the first couple of days, it has been hard hitting the right pitch on some notes. Not sure if this is the tuba, the mouthpiece, or my lack of skill at the moment, and combination of all.

Or, how about a vote for your favorite general pupose mouthpiece that I should buy new?

By the way, I will be in NJ next week and will be able to visit Dillons. Previous posts have suggested that you can test mouthpieces. I'm not sure what to test, after just a week of playing.

TIA,

Jonathan
