what you say is true. With my very small face even a narrow cup mouthpiece leaves no part of my corners showing....so there "cannot" be a leak. I am basically free buzzing into a confined space, and it works fine. The only time I have trouble is if I have been playing a lot of tuba, and go back to horn; THEN I leak at the corners outside the horn mouthpiece until I get a handle on it again.
