Am I alone in thinking and asking myself "why do orchestras still ask for the R. Vaughan Williams concerto", when there are better, more virtuosic, more enjoyable concertos out there. What about the John Williams concerto for example (if they have to have a williams of some sort). And why the Transcription of a Horn concerto on the NY audition? Why not the actual Concerto? Just my opinion of course.
