You're right, it's not really stealing. It's more like knowingly receiving stolen goods. Sort of. I mean, whoever put it up on Kazaa probably bought the original right? So the thing wasn't stolen in the first place. And being a nice person, they want to share it with eveybody, so they put it up on Kazaa. However, here's the thing: they did not buy the rights to distribute that recording. Nor do the users of such free file-sharing services pay for the rights to own the recording.
