You're right. People are just silly sometimes. Here's what I know, (ready for the disclaimer...) but please check on current pricing with a dealer.
HB-21 New: Usually in the $13,000.00 to $13,500.00 range.
HB-21 Used: From what I have seen, they have sold for as much as $11,500 and as long as $9,250. Mostly, I have seen them sell around the $10,000 mark. All of this of course depends on the condition of the horn and how it plays in general.
Personal History: I have had a two students buy new ones for $13,750 with the hard case back in the '90's. I have had three students buy used ones between, $9,500 and $10,000.
