Hey Barry,

I am very partial to Karajan's last recording, Bruckner 8 with VPO, but DG has screwed up some of the mix and some of the playing is less than stellar. However, musically it is one of the most profound things that Karajan ever did, as is evidenced by the spinning out of the Adagio, I have never heard the inner lines played with such clarity and balance. I guess I am looking for a recording that has great technical,i.e.; great recording merit. I understand that the Cincy 8 is the crazy Nowak's edition, but Telarc does some amazing things recording wise. I will buy the W-M recording, but I don't think I have seen it available for some time. Some day I will get my hands on the 1944 VPO live recording of Bruckner 8 with Furtwangler. This has taken on near legendary status amongst those who have heard it. You don't happen to have a copy, do you?

Chuck
