I do some stand-up using a bari sax neck strap to hold my little Conn 10J BBb. I just hook the strap to a brace on the horn that will balance the horn comfortably.
I also sometimes use the neck strap while sitting down, because it's handy for keeping the horn on my lap, and it allows me to play one-handed if I have to juggle music or whatever.
The only drawback to this is that you do have to hang on to the horn with at least one hand, just as with a bari.
I use an old "Ace" brand bari strap that probably sells for no more than $10 now. Several companies also make a double shoulder strap for bari that sells for about $20.
