I have a "Wunderlich" 3-valve F tuba, and I'd like to find out more about it. This horn looks somewhat like an old Karl Zeiss. It's got clockwork springs on the rotary valves, horizontal tuning slide, "Zeiss"-style contoured keys, raw brass with nickel trim, no bell ring, the "keel" on the bottom bow that digs into your leg.
The bell engraving reads something like "Wunderlich Siebbrunn." (working from memory because I don't have the horn with me at the moment). There's no serial number anywhere that I could find. Sorry, don't have any way to scan a picture.
It's got a very nice, light sound and it's worked well for some quintet things. If it only had a 4th valve . . .
Has anybody ever heard of this maker? Any information you might have on the age, maker etc. would be greatly appreciated.
