York made two CC's and one ended up at the U of Oklahoma. Donetelli was on tour with the Philadelphia Orchestra (this would be prior to 1949) and saw the horn. He called Mr Jacobs who worked out a deal - the rest is history.

Back to Steve's original thing, new or used. It really depends on the horn (student vs pro model), who owned it, why they are selling it, who you are buying it from and so on. I sold a CB 50 last November that someone got a deal on. I sold it and kept the last horn Mr Jacobs played, a G 50. I even had the horn cleaned out by Tenabe & co. What did I get in return, A tarnished G 50! There are times a used horn is a deal!
