I think the larger model CC's (822's) sound very good, as you can hear on most of Jim Self's current soundtrack work, but the only ones I've played on feel very resistant to me, blowing-wise, and rather awkward to hold, being used to the German style of tuba (Mirafone in particular). The F's though, although I'm not a real F player, seem more comfortable in both respects, but seems to have a kind of blase tone to it, which would be the opposite effect of its' CC counterpart, strangely enough. I have liked the way the smaller horn (621) played when I tried it several years ago, particularly on jazz, but haven't played one recently after being accustomed to larger horns.
