I have the soundtrack to the movie. John Williams is the composer/conductor and I am not positive who the tubist is. It's probably Tommy Johnson or Jim Self. On the soundtrack, I believe the solo your talking about is on the track entitled "The Menu." For another good tuba solo in a movie, check out (I think its track 11?) the soundtrack for the movie Hook also written by Williams. It's also recorded by the Boston Pop's with Chester Schmizt playing the solo on the album "Williams On Williams" entitled The Banquet. I personally think this is a much better performance. Incidentally, he is playing the solo on a Yamaha 822F tuba. I was a student of his at the time he recorded it and happen to mention it when I was talking with him. Anyway, happy listening!
