As many different old E flats that are out there = as many possible different sizes. Even the variances among the same manufacturer's horn of that vintage can be great. Although we truly don't have a standardized shank (just ask Doug Elliott!), we have gotten closer or regionalized with receiver sizes. That said...
Try a bass shank trombone mouthpiece for fit. If it is correct (it should go in approx. 1"), then you have a good point of reference for someone to make a mouthpiece for you. If I had the horn, I could turn one down for you. I once had a 60's Besson Eb that had that size shank. I called Joe Marcinkiewicz and he was able to turn the shank down on a Jim Self model mouthpiece for me. Not only did it fit the euro shank of my Besson, the taper was enough for it to fit most standard (American) receivers as well. Good luck, Daryl
