My friend Eric bought a Besson Euph about 4 years ago from a Besson dealer direct. I remember asking him back then if Besson makes any CC tubas. The answer was no.....want to know the WHY? Well, tradition of course. BBb and Eb tubas seem to be the traditional keys of tubas in England, where Besson is from (so I was told). It seems to me that in the US we found it necessary to be better than all countries so not only do we NOT use the metric system we also play our horns a step higher (CC and F). Hee hee!! Yeah yeah....I know we aren't the ONLY ones playing CC and F tubas.
