Belmont University in Nashville does this sort of thing, they have a lot of support of organizations/businesses in the area (and there are a bunch in Music) providing internships and opportunities for service. I can't think of many music/publishing/radio/TV related companies that don't always have a bunch of interns running around all the time.
I don't have any personal experience in this area but do have some friends that choose to mentor students in this role and they all seem very happy with it.
