When I was at Bob Tucci's place near Munich several years ago I played the original Conn that prompted the production of these Rudy Meinls. The Conn was a great playing horn. I was very disappointed with the Rudy copies that I've tried until the one that I played on a bit at the Brasswind last weekend. It did seem much better than the earlier attempts. It might really be worth another look. I'll try to get a picture of the orignal Rudy concept horn posted. It looks very close to the original Conn and quite a lot different than the production version.
