The Gregson was written for John Fletcher (GOD) to be played on an Eflat tuba (Big Steve doesn't want an Eb solo). It requires a good deal of agility to pull it off. I've heard guys try to perform it off on a CC tuba, and fail.
Unless you are an extremely accurate player, steer clear of the Gregson and find something with a part with less rapid high register.
